Feeling Thankful

Feeling Thankful November 25, 2014 A few weeks ago I, along with many of my choir friends, said good-bye to another friend. Although I had last seen my friend Carmen fairly recently, I did not know she was sick. Her diagnosis and illness came so fast and she was gone in mere weeks. Her breast cancer, first diagnosed just a few years ago, came roaring back with a vengeance in the form of aggressive bone cancer. Carmen was a fireball of life and energy and pure love. She was witty and fun and opinionated. I mean opinionated in the nicest of ways. NOT in the way people sometimes talk about women. I mean she was thoughtful.
